Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a ceremony of signing an agreement between Ammonia-2 and Gazprom Mezhgeriongaz

On 1 November on the sidelines of the XII St Petersburg International Gas Forum and in the presence of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Director General of the  Gazprom Mezhregiongas Company Sergey Gustov , the Director General of Ammonia Company and the Director General of the Gazprom Mezhregiongas Kazan Company  (which is the part of the Gazprom Mezhregiongas Group pf companies) Aydar Tagirov signed a framework agreement  between the Ammonia 2 and the Gazprom Mezhregiongas companies on supplying natural gas to the ammonia and carbamide producing complex Ammonia 2 in Tatarstan.

The complex to be built in Mendeleevsk region of the republic and which is being designed now will have the capacity of 1.2m tonnes of ammonia and 1.75m tonnes of carbamide a year.

The agreement envisages that all raw material, namely natural gas, will be supplied by the Gazprom Mezhregiongas in the amount of up to 1.3bn cubic meters a year for the period of 30 years.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “I would like to thank our colleagues form the Gazprom and the Gazprom Mezhregiongas  for the support granted to the republic. Tatarstan is one of the largest gas consumers in the country and stable gas supplies are the key for sustainable work of Tatarstan enterprises and implementation of promising investments projects.” 

In his turn Dmitriy Makarov said: “The agreement signed with the Gazprom Mezhregiongas will become the bedrock in the work of the complex. We already have an experience of cooperating with the company and all parties understand the importance of the project not only for the republic but for the whole of the country The complex will make it possible to produce more than 2000 nitrogen fertilizers a year and to create more than 500 jobs.”

Sergey Gustov emphasized: “O am sure that the project of the company will give additional impetus to the social and economic development of Tatarstan and the Group is ready to ensure stable gas supply to the new complex.”
