Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy Minister of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Sharifzadeh

On October 26, at the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Sharifzadeh, who arrived on a working visit in Tatarstan as the head of the Iranian delegation to take part in the opening ceremony of the office «Mir Business Bank», which is a branch of the Iranian bank «Bank Melli Iran» in Kazan.

Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that this project is a specific example of the practical implementation of Tatarstan-Iranian cooperation.

“I hope for its successful implementation and wish you a fruitful stay and good work in our republic. Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran under the Russian-Iranian relations. Our countries are good neighbours and partners in solving pressing international problems. In modern conditions, cooperation between our states acquires special value and relevance,” Minnikhanov said.

He also emphasized that last year the trade turnover between Russia and Iran reached a record level - increased by 15 percent to 4.6 billion dollars.

There is a Memorandum on Trade Cooperation between the governments of Tatarstan and Iran; a number of Tatarstan companies have implemented projects in Iran over the years.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Economy of Iran Mohammad Javad Sharifzadeh considered that cooperation with Tatarstan contributes to the active development of relations between Russia and Iran. He also invited Rustam Minnikhanov to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran again.
