On 24 October, welcoming the Consul-General of Turkey in Kazan Uğur Yılmaz, who came to office on 1 October 2023, at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “I welcome you as the Consul-General of Turkey in Kazan and want to wish you success in your new appointment.” He emphasized that today’s meeting is taking place on the eve of the 100th anniversary of proclamation of the Republic of Turkey.
“From the bottom of our hearts we congratulate people of Turkey with the upcoming holiday and wish further prosperity to their country. Leaders of our countries attach great attention to interregional cooperation,” he stressed.
The Rais of Tatarstan also stated that Turley is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan and interaction of the General Consulate of Turley with the regional state bodies is at the high level.
He continued by informing that last year the trade turnover of Turley and Tatarstan amounted to 1.2bn dollars having twice exceeded the numbers of that in 2021, and this year’s results are also demonstrating the growth.
In his turn Uğur Yılmaz said that he will try his hardest to continue the creative work organized by previous consuls.
“I am very happy and proud to be appointed the Consul-General in Kazan. Let me pass you warm greetings from the President of Turkey,” he said to Rustam Minnikhanov.
“Turkey and Tatarstan represent two brotherly people that is why our country attaches great attention to cooperation with Tatarstan. I and my colleagues promise to continue the work built up by my predecessors”, Uğur Yılmaz concluded.
