Innopolis University opens the Innocyber Polygon under DID-2023

On October 19, on the sidelines of DID-2023 Forum, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roman Shaykhutdinov, Head of Center for Sociological Research (Sociocenter) Andrey Keller and Head of the Advanced Engineering School of Innopolis University Iskander Bariev launched the cyberphysical laboratory «Innocyberpolygon», which was created on the basis of the Advanced Engineering School of the Russian IT University in partnership with 16 specialized companies for training and testing applications, finding errors and vulnerabilities in the source code, detecting computer attacks, investigating incidents and building layer protection.

«Innocyberpolygon» is a modern laboratory for cyber exercises and training of specialists in information security with professional PCs and server equipment that allows emulating complex infrastructures, for example, banks and state authorities. The laboratory has installed virtual training stands with courses and simulators on code security analysis, protection against attacks on corporate infrastructure and cybercrime investigation.

“Innocyberpolygon is a completely new advanced approach to IT training. The process of transformation of the traditional system of training specialists is taking place in such places. The issue of information security is always pressing. We train students in this area on the basis of Innopolis University, we have created an Information Security Center, and now we are launching a process of continuous practical training for both students of the Advanced Engineering School and existing engineers of our partners who solve real industry problems. This synergy between the university and the real sector of the economy should develop due to such digital spaces,”Shaykhutdinov emphasized.
