Rustam Minnikhanov to agricultural workers: Due to your work there are always fresh bread, milk, meat and vegetables on the table

On 12 October, speaking at a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Agricultural Worker held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that one of important tasks was to make sure that life of rural residents satisfies all modern standards.

Congratulating farmers, workers and old stagers of agribusiness with their professional holiday, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Due to your selfless work our residents always have fresh bread, milk, meat and vegetables on their tables. I am happy to welcome also our honorary guests – our old stagers. We are grateful to you for your contribution into the development of agriculture and the republic.”

He informed that the grain yield has made 3.5m tonnes in the current year, and the expected bulk yield of sugar beet is 1.5m tonnes, that of potatoes – 790 thousand tonnes and 250 thousand tonnes of vegetables.

Having thanked the leading agribusiness enterprises, agribusiness holdings and the best combine drivers and farm machine operators, Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned stockmen, having said: “They have produced more than 2m tonnes for the second year in the row and the produced meat amount will reach about 539 thousand tonnes.”  

He said that the republic continues construction and modernization of cattle-breeding, grain and elevator facilities, having invested more than 150bn rubles in the last four years only.

The Rais of the republic continued: “Under current conditions we should completely provide basic food products to our residents as this is the issue of food security. Small farms are also an important kind of economic management and there are 474 thousand private farms, more than 4 thousand medium size farms and more than 300 consumers’ cooperative successfully working in Tatarstan. “

In conclusion Rustam Minnikhanov once again congratulated agricultural workers with the holiday, wished them good health and prosperity and handed in state awards of Russia and Tatarstan to the best of them.
