On October 10, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov looked around the building of the Central Department Store, where it is planned to house the Center for Folk Arts and Crafts with the total area of 32 thousand square meters.
Minnikhanov looked around the ground floor, the main halls of the first and second floors and walked around the building.
According to the concept, the building is expected to house workshops, production venues and spaces for conducting master classes. The public space will be a place of attraction for both Kazan residents and tourists.
Rustam Minnikhanov tasked the builders to inspect all floors and determine useful areas for use as workshops and production centers. Electrical and ventilation systems will also be replaced. Minnikhanov also instructed to provide food areas. In the near future, builders will start reconstruction.
“The main thing is that this place should become a center of attraction for people,” the Rais of the republic concluded.
