Rustam Minnikhanov meets Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

On 8 October the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Speaking at the meeting, the Rais of Tatarstan thanked Emir for attention given to the development of cooperation with the republic within the framework of Russia-Qatar relations. He stated that today’s trade turnover between Qatar and Tatarstan is quite modest and at the same time the range of products which can be delivered to Qatar is rather wide. 

In his turn the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani informed that in the nearest future he will send a delegation to Tatarstan to study cooperation prospects. He also assured that a representative group of Qatar businessmen will take part in the KazanForum in 2024. 

The Sheikh also invited a delegation from Tatarstan to come on a reciprocal visit to take part in an economic summit to be held in Doha next May. Rustam Minnikhanov informed that such a group of representatives of state power bodies, industry and business will be organized and send to study experience and set up business contacts.
