Rustam Minnikhanov meets Director General of the MegaFon Company Khachatur Pombukhchan

On 6 October in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Director General of the MegaFon Company Khachatur Pombukhchan. 

In the current year the MegaFon celebrated its 30th birthday, and , speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that during this time the company has become one of the leaders in the domestic market, having 1.8m subscribers in Tatarstan only.

He said that the company is the strategic partner of the republic, having provided great support in holding the Universiade-2013, the WorldSkills Kazan Championship – 2019 and the events of the KazanForum in Kazan. The company is also the title telecommunications sponsor of the international tournament “The Games of the Future” to be held in Kazan in 2024. 

In his turn Khachatur Pombukhchan stated that the MegaFon is interested in developing cooperation with Tatarstan. During last four years the company has invested about 1bn rubles into development and modernization of its infrastructure in the republic, he informed. 

At the meeting its participants also specified new spheres for further interaction, including development of cooperation of the company with the Innopolis University and implementation of joint projects in tourism and ecology.
