On 6 October the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Sate Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the International Teacher’s Day.
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the Year of the Teacher and the Mentor announced in Russia was another reason to express words of gratitude to teachers for their hard work which is rightfully considered as the most noble and creative. “Every teacher gives a part on his sole to his students. It is your experience wisdom and knowledge from which the upbringing of our young generation – concerned citizens and patriots of the Motherland - depends on,” he said.
The Rais of the republic informed that currently there are more than 77 thousand teachers in the republic and the number of young teachers is growing every year. He also emphasized that every year school teachers and headmasters receive acknowledgement at the highest federal level and representatives of Tatarstan firmly keep their 3 place in the number of winners of the All-Russia Schoolchildren Subjects Olympics.
Having said that Tatarstan attaches special attention to the development both of education and its material and technical base and to increasing the quality of education and occupational prestige of teachers, Rustam Minnikhanov once again congratulated teachers and mentors with the professional holiday and handed in a numbers of state awards.
A teacher from the Gymnasium 13 Alinya Sgaraeva, who was awarded the rank of “The Honorary Teacher of Tatarstan”, thanked the administration of the republic for its permanent support and attention given to the sphere of education.
The Minister of Science and Education of the republic Ilsur Kahdiullin, who also took part in the event listed all those teachers who achieved great success in the current year, and having named them he said: “Today they are all here with us. They are the pride of the republic and the country”.
He added that the administration of the republic provides permanent support to teachers by building new schools, handing in new laptops to teachers and using various incentives. “We, teachers of Tatarstan, will never let you down,” he concluded.
