On 29 September Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov took part in Kazan International Legal Forum held in Kazan, where he together with the moderator and participants of the session “Violence in the web: new challenges and qualification problems” discussed measures of digital aggression prevention, protection and counteraction.
Speaking at the session, Roman Shaykhutdinov said that today digital violence takes various forms and can have even more serious consequences that the physical one. Even after the active stage of digital bulling is over, traces of this violence are still in the web and can be accessible for a long period of time.
A comprehensive approach is required to oppose this kind of aggression and Roman Shaykhutdinov said that “the institute of digital cleanness and digital serenity – the White Internet established recently in the country is an important structure aimed at protection of the growing generation and the society in the whole from compromising, offensive and false information.”
“One of the important tasks is to ensure the absence of violence in the net. Emotional distresses a child can get because of bulling require special criteria. It is important to think about the terms: what is a compromising behavior and what is violence in the net,” the Deputy Prime Minister proposed.
