Rais of Tatarstan takes part in a meeting of the Council of Volga Federal District on issues of youth policy

On 28 September during his working trip to Perm, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the Council of the Volga Federal District held by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the District Igor Komarov, which discussed issues of youth policy.

Speaking at the meeting, Igor Komarov stated that today the youth is the main object of informational and ideological pressure from strategic opponents of our country. “ The adequate resistance to this challenge presupposes systemic work of state power bodies, educational institutions and the civic society with the aim of strengthening fundamental Russian values and development of images of the future of the country for young people, who will want to live and work in it”, he said. 

He informed about the number of projects being implemented in the sphere of youth policy, such as the project “Conversations about important things” implemented by the Russian Ministry of Education, the All-Russia Council of Vice Rectors in Youth Policy and Upbringing organized by the Russian Ministry of Science and Education, the work of the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, as well as the importance of the work of the “Movement of the First”

Igor Komarov emphasized that currently the District is actively implementing public projects focused on various categories of children and youth and last year the number of participants of such projects exceeded 1m people. 

The head of the Russian President’s Directorate in Public Projects Sergey Novikov informed participants of the meeting that today the Movement of the First unites more than 340 000 children  in all regions of the Volga Federal District with 286 local branches and 6 879 primary organizations opened in the regions. 

Deputy Head of the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs Damir Fattakhov told that the Agency is implementing a comprehensive programme aimed at civic and patriotic upbringing of young people and has already organized more than 27 thousand events covering more than 1.8m young people.

Heads of number of regions, taking part in the meeting, told about their practices of improvement of pedagogical work with the youth.
