Rustam Minnikhanov pays a working visit to Turkmenistan

On September 26, at the invitation of the leadership of Turkmenistan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit to the city of Arkadag. As an honored guest, the Rais of the republic will take part in events dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan to be celebrated in Ashgabat on September 27.

Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty (People’s Council) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

“Turkmenistan has always been a strategic partner for Tatarstan”, Minnikhanov said in his greeting and warmly congratulated Arkadag and the people of Turkmenistan on the national holiday. The Rais of Tatarstan emphasized that cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan is of special importance in the difficult world situation. And Tatarstan is ready to make every effort to strengthen these ties. “In our opinion, it is necessary to give new impetus to our economic cooperation. There is considerable potential in such industries as automotive manufacturing, shipbuilding, gas transportation, energy and oil production,” Minnikhanov concluded.
