On September 26, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Chief Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan Almaz Khisamutdinov said there are 34 large poultry enterprises in the republic, and only three of them have biological protection.
In addition, 239 cattle enterprises with over 500 head, are biologically unprotected. “I want to address the heads of farms, which are directly responsible for this issue. They should understand: who wants to continue working should deal with biosafety”, Khisamutdinov stressed.
Poultry and livestock farms should maintain a closed regime to be biologically protected, he added. At the same time, according to the speaker, even large enterprises built using new technologies do not use their sanitary facilities and disinfection barriers and operate in an open mode.
He clarified that the infection is mainly imported into the republic with live cattle. Moreover, a lot of entrepreneurs are engaged in the resale of animals.
