On 22 September the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko, who came to Tatarstan on a working trip, visited the Forest Selection and Seed Center in Saby region of the republic.
The Center opened in 2013 specializes in growing planting material with the root-balled tree system and processing forests seeds with improved qualities. Its infrastructure comprises 4 greenhouses, 13 nurseries, spacing seed feeds and the complex for production, storage and processing the conifer seeds.
The Rais of Tatarstan and the Russian Vice-Prime Minister looked round the area of the nursery and were told about the technology of growing seedlings with the root-balled tree system.
Employees of the Center told that every year they grow up to 12m seedlings including conifer and other species of trees, as well as more than 40 species of bushes and shrubs for greenery.
The guests also got acquainted with the exposition of the forest industry complex of the republic, including the staff training system and the work of school forest districts.
