On 18 September at their meeting in Kazan the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Uzbekistan Prime Minister Abdulla Oripov discussed cooperation between their republics.
Welcoming the guest, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized the role of good relations between Presidents Valdimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev in developing cooperation. “We highly appreciate the possibility of expanding the interaction with Uzbekistan within the framework of friendly Russia-Uzbekistan relations,” he stated.
The Rais of the republic mentioned a number of joint projects already implemented in Uzbekistan such as the Chirchik and Dzhizak technical parks and the branch of Kazan Federal University in Dzhizak and informed that last year the Tatarstan-Uzbekistan trade turnover grew and exceeded 290m dollars. This year there is also a 30 per cent growth, he added.
In his turn Abdulla Oripov thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for a highly topical programme organized in Tatarstan.
