Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with athletes and coaches: Thanks to you, the sports industry of Tatarstan gets a new impetus for development

On September 15, at the Ak Bars Arena Stadium, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with leading athletes and coaches of the republic.

Before the meeting, Minnikhanov visited the new Museum of Sports of Tatarstan, where all the brightest sports moments associated with Tatarstan are presented. The exhibition includes an extensive collection of attributes and exhibits, interactive stands, elements of augmented reality and a projection hall.

Opening the meeting, Minister of Sport of the republic Vladimir Leonov emphasized that Tatarstan is one of the leaders of the country in the development of sports. There are 160 sports schools in the republic, 136 sports are being developed. During the current season, Tatarstan athletes won 944 medals. Every year the number of members of the national teams of Russia from Tatarstan is growing - 907 athletes. Today Tatarstan is one of the leaders in providing sports facilities in the country. The total number of sports facilities in the country is more than 11.6 thousand. Welcoming the meeting participants, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated athletes and coaches on successful performances at international and Russian competitions.

The Rais of Tatarstan emphasized that the republic is doing a lot of work to create the most comfortable conditions for the training process: modern sports facilities are being built, the material and technical base of sports schools is being strengthened, incentive payments and achievement bonuses are paid for achievements.

At the end of the meeting, the Rais of the republic handed in a number of state awards.
