On 13 September, speaking at his meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the republic highly appreciates the opportunity of developing cooperation with Uzbekistan within the framework of friendly Russia-Uzbekistan relations.
“In this recent times we have an active interaction with Uzbekistan colleagues in implementing a number of joint projects and cooperation with the leading Tatarstan companies,” the Rais of the republic emphasized.
Thus last year there was the opening of the Chirchik chemical and industrial technical part, which is a joint project of the Tatarstan Khimgrad Company and Uzbekistan partners and Kazan Federal University opened its branch in the city of Dzhizak , he said and attracted attention to the fact that by the results of last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan exceeded 290m dollars, showing the 50 per cent growth. “We should continue increasing the volume and range of mutual deliveries of goods and services. We have everything necessary for that,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
He added that special attention is attached to development of relations in the spheres of culture, science and education and tourism.
In his turn Botirjon Asadov thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for the attention given to cooperation with Uzbekistan.
In the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov handed in Botirjon Asadov the medal in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of TASSR “for fruitful cooperation and big contribution into strengthening the social and economic potential of the Republic of Tatarstan.”.
