Rustam Minnikhanov: Leading organizations of the scientific and educational complex of Tatarstan participate in all strategic initiatives of the scientific and technological development of the country

On September 5, speaking at a meeting of the International Supervisory Board of the World-Class Scientific Center «Rational development of liquid hydrocarbon reserves of the planet» held at Lobachevsky Scientific Library, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that leading organizations of the scientific and educational complex of Tatarstan participate in all strategic initiatives of the scientific and technological development of the country.

Minnikhanov emphasized that today five universities of the republic are participants of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership programme, including 3 advanced engineering schools, 2 specialized educational and scientific centres, engineering centre, as well as an interdisciplinary Centre for Technology Transfer. In addition, last year the regional start-up studio was launched on the «Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship», and following the results of the student startup contest, as many as 371 small university business was established.

“A special place among the variety of facilities of advanced research and innovation infrastructure is occupied by the World Science Centre of the Federal University. Its activity is aimed at the environmentally safe reproduction of mineral resource base of the republic, which for a long time will remain a key factor of economic growth of Tatarstan”, the Rais of Tatarstan.

He emphasized that due to the work of the Center for 4 years, the research and development sector received about 1 billion roubles from the federal budget. “It is important to remember that grantees undertake serious commitments to implement development programmes and achieve specific targets. Therefore, at the previous meeting, we unanimously decided to hold meetings of the Supervisory Board at least three times a year. This will allow to promptly evaluate the results of the center’s activities and to respond to emerging challenges in a timely manner», Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Rector of Kazan Federal University Lenar Safin said that the World-Class Scientific Center «Rational development of liquid hydrocarbon reserves of the planet» operates in a consortium with three oil universities - Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, Gubkin University of Oil and Gas and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technologies.

Vice-Rector of Kazan Federal University Danis Nurgaliev reported on the interim results of the implementation of the programme for the creation and development of the World-Class Science Center in 2023. He said that today the Center is successfully working with all the largest oil and gas producing and service companies not only in our country, but also abroad.

This year, the Center’s specialists developed a unified platform to optimize the tasks of the oil and gas industry, obtained new solutions in the field of drilling techniques and plan to create a pilot production of a low-tonnage plant for the production of experimental batches of reagents to increase oil recovery, preparation and transportation of oil.
