Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe

On 4 September, speaking at his meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working trip to Tajikistan , said: “Even though our trade turnover has been increasing lately, its volume is still insufficient. We are interested in expansion of the presence of leading Tatarstan companies in the Tajikistan market for strengthening economic ties between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.”

According to results of 2022 the Tatarstan – Tajikistan trade turnover exceeded 30m dollars is such priority spheres as machine-building, agribusiness and healthcare.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the republic is interested in supplying helicopters, petrochemical products, petrochemical equipment and Halal products to Tajikistan.

He also expressed this gratitude to Emomali Rahmon for his support granted to the Tatar community, which comprises more than 12 500 people in Tajikistan.

In his turn Emomali Rahmon emphasized the importance of inter-regional cooperation “as a constituent part on Tajikistan – Russia strategic partnership relations” and said he is sure Rustam Minnikhanov’s visit will facilitate further strengthening of cooperation between the countries.
