Rustam Minnikhanov at an opening of Gymnasium N107 in Kazan: More than 500 thousand children will go to school in the republic and more than 57 thousand of them are first graders

On 1 September the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials took part in a ceremony of opening Gymnasium N107 in Novo-Savinovskiy district of Kazan.

The gymnasium for 1 224 schoolchildren is equipped with modern classrooms with labs and experimental zones, language labs, a conference hall with the video-conference facilities, classrooms for primary  and middle and high schoolchildren, a gym and playrooms for after-school groups.

It also has a swimming pool and sports grounds for football, volleyball and lawn tennis.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the September 1 is a milestone event and said: “: More than 500 thousand children will go to school in the republic and more than 57 thousand of them are first graders. “ He also assured that all schools in the republic are ready for the new academic year.

“This new school is a sample of what today’s schools should be. We have been building many such schools but every year they are becoming more special. I wish you all that your children grow, that there is peace and concord in the republic, that our economy develops, our capital becomes more and more beautiful and you all be alive, heathy and enjoy your children, “the Rais of the republic said and handed in the Principle of the school Anastasiya Akmayeva a symbolic key for the new school.

After Ilsur Metshin congratulated everyone with the Day of Knowledge and September 1 and said that 20 000 children will go to the first grade in Kazan his year, Rustam Minnikhanov, the Mayor and other guests looked round the new facility and its new equipment. They also attended a conference hall and the primary school cluster where they handed in gifts to first graders.
