Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of the OIC Youth Forum Taha Ayhan

On 29 August t their meeting in the Kazan City Hall held with participation of the Chairman of the Russian Movement of children and youth “The Movement of the First” Grigoriy Gurov, the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs Damir Fattakhov and Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleyeva, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the President of the OIC Youth Forum (OIC YF) Taha Ayhan discussed issues of further cooperation and strengthening relations at the youth level. Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnkhanov underlined that the youth policy is a priority for development of the human capital both in the republic and in Russia on the whole.

Taha Ayhan came to Tatarstan to take part in the II Kazan World Youth Summit organized by the Government of the republic and the OIC YF on 28-30 August of the current year, which discusses the role of traditional values in raising children and young people in the modern world, and, speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the OIC YF General assembly is taking place next spring and wished Taha Ayhan to hold it successfully and assured that Tatarstan is ready to continue taking part in the work of the Youth forum representing Muslim youth in other countries – not OIC members.

He also invited Taha Ayhan to take part in a meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic World” in October in Malaysia and informed him that the traditional International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic world) will be held in May 2024.

Another important event to be held in Kazan in 2024 is the Summit of heads of BRICS and BRICS-plus countries and Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We will be happy to see high guests from the OIC at events in the republic.”

In his turn, Taha Ayhan expressed his gratitude to the administration of the republic for a warm welcome, saying: “It is a great honor for me to be here. You are not just a highly respected person for me, but also my mentor” and invited Rustam Minnikhanov to take part in the General Assembly of the OIC YF in Istanbul.

In the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov handed in Taha Ayhan a state award of Tatarstan -the Medal “100 years of Establishment of TASSR”.
