On August 29, the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov together with the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mikhametshin visited the exhibition of recreated traditional clothes «Kazan Volga Region: Images of Folk Culture» in the Kazan Kremlin Chambers.
This is a unique historical and ethnographic project on creation of reconstructed traditional clothes of peoples of the Volga region of the second half of the 19th - first half of the 20th century, living on the territory of the Tatarstan: Russians, Tatars, Chuvashes, Bashkirs, Mari, Mordvins, Udmurts.
Under the project, an expert group studied the material cultural heritage of the peoples of Tatarstan in places of their compact residence. According to the results of research and expeditions, leading masters of folk culture under the guidance of scientific consultants have recreated 29 costumes of urban and rural population of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries.
The Rais of Tatarstan thanked the organizers of the exhibition. “Very decent work, interesting exhibition. The next step is to organize manufacturing for people to buy the suits they like. This work needs to be carried out with craftsmen», Minnikhanov said. The exhibition will last until October 1, 2023.
In the future, the exhibition will be permanently located in the building of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan.
