On August 28, the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIBUR Company Leonid Mikhelson and Director General of Kazanorgsintez Chemical Company Ayrat Safin and other officials took part in the ceremony of commissioning the isopropylbenzene synthesis plant, which underwent a large-scale modernization. The raw materials produced entirely by the enterprise itself are the first half-product in the polycarbonate processing chain.
Renovation and reconstruction have reduced air emissions by 20 per cent and energy consumption by 68 per cent.
Earlier Kazanorgsintez Chemical Company increased the capacity to produce polycarbonates from 77,000 to 100.000 tonnes. The commissioning of a new isopropyl benzene plant has reduced raw material consumption by 4 per cent and energy consumption by 68 per cent. The capital cost of the project was 2.5 billion roubles. The process of reconstruction of production was carried out during the period of scheduled stop repairs of the plant and did not affect the current production.
Minnikhanov thanked members of the Board of Directors of SIBUR for attention to the development of production.
In his turn, Leonid Mikhelson added: “There is a decision to establish a new generation research and development center in Kazan”.
