On August 28, during his working visit to rural town of Bogatye Saby, the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov together with the Head of Saby region of the republic Rais Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov and Advisor to the Director General of the Gazprom Social Initiatives Fund Nikolay Kuzmichev took part in the opening of a new building of the equestrian complex, which was built in 2014 with the support of the Gazprom for Children programme. The facility consists of a stable, a racetrack field, an open stand for 300 people and a covered arena. During the year, the complex hosts stages and the final of the Saby region Show Jumping Cup, where athletes from different regions of Russia take part.
Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the republic is doing a lot of work on the development of horse breeding and the popularization of equestrian sports. He also said that earlier there was a run of stallions of Tatar breed from Kazan to Altai. “Six of our horses participated in the endurance riding. The route was more than 3,000 km. The run showed that the Tatar horse breed is very sturdy”, the Rais of the republic said.
“I would like to thank Gazprom company and Aleksey Miller. Tatarstan and Gazprom have many joint projects. And one of them is this wonderful equestrian center,” Minnikhanov emphasized. Nikolay Kuzmichev said that the renovated complex will be able to host larger events and will become a real home for children who are fond of equestrian sports.
