Rustam Minnikhanov at the ceremony of closing the channel deck of the bridge crossing the Volga to the M-12: Dreams come true - we in the republic dreamed of a bridge across the Volga

On August 8, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov together with Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev  and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, who participated in the event via videoconference, took part in the ceremony of closing the channel deck of the bridge crossing the Volga, the part of the M-12 East highway.

The bridge across the Volga is the longest artificial structure on the M-12 road. The construction of the Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod-Kazan highway is carried out under the national project «Comprehensive plan of modernization and expansion of backbone infrastructure». The M-12 project will allow to develop the economic potential of agglomerations, connect 17 major regional centers, bring freight traffic outside of settlements, increase road safety, reduce the number of accident victims in the Moscow-Kazan corridor at least 3,5 times

The launching of the last span of the left-hand thread of the bridge across the Volga on the M-12 in the direction of Moscow was made by specialists of Mostrostroy-11 Company. The process of assembly and launch of stretching 2411 meters began on November 23, 2021.

The total length of the bridge is 3362 m.
