On 5 August, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with all municipalities of the republic via videoconference in the Government House of the republic , the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov reported about results of work of cattle breeding sphere in the republic in the first six months of the current year and the current harvest campaign.
He said that 468 thousand hectares or 31% of the planned have been harvested in Tatarstan and 1m 322 thousand tonnes of grain threshed with the average yield of 28.3 centners per hectare (compared to 41.3 centners in 2022).
Marat Zyabbarov said that to complete the harvest the farms with high work load have to sign contacts with mechanized teams as many of them from neighbouring regions are ready to come for help.
Speaking about winter crops, the regional Minister informed that the planned winter crops sowing area is 520 thousand hectares and the sowing must be completed by 5 September at most.
Reporting about results of cattle breeding in Tatarstan, Marat Ayzatullin said that in the first six months of the current year the farmers produced 1m 76 thousand tonnes of milk, sold 233 thousand tonnes of meat and poultry and produced 792.7m eggs.
He said that the productivity of farms has grown by 5 per cent compared to 2022 and also told about state support given to dairy and cattle-breeding farms with 1bn 800m rubles allocated to them in 2023.
