Rustam Minnikhanov visits Alabuga SEZ and holds a meeting of the Human Resources Supervisory Board

On July 21, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit in Yelabuga municipal region to visit the Alabuga Special Economic Zone and to take part in a meeting of the SEZ Alabuga Supervisory Board.

Rustam Minnikhanov looked around the new laboratories of Alabuga Polytech, located at the SEZ technopark. There are five new laboratories-workshops of Alabuga Polytech, including the workshop of the water supply and sewerage workshop, the workshop of control and measuring devices section, the workshop of the low-voltage electrical networks section, the workshop of the administration department of information and technical systems, the repair and mechanics workshop.

The Rais of Tatarstan talked to the students of Alabuga Polytechnic University and emphasized their high qualification already in the first year of study. This result was achieved due to a dual educational programme with an emphasis on practical-oriented approach to learning. All laboratories are equipped with the most modern equipment, where students learn to repair, assemble and launch equipment, select equipment according to specifications.

Then, accompanied by the Director General of the SEZ "Alabuga" Timur Shagivaleev, the Rais of Tatarstan visited the campus "Alabuga Polytech", where they looked around a medical center, residential areas, a sports ground and also got acquainted with the living conditions of students in modern hostels, where there is everything necessary for a comfortable life. The complex consists of eight hostels with an adjacent park.

Alabuga Polytech is Russia's largest educational center for the training of qualified workers (10,000 people per year). Further, the meeting of the SEZ Alabuga Supervisory Board was held, where the issue of staffing was discussed.

Shagivaleev reminded that today about 11 thousand jobs have been created in the SEZ «Alabuga». In the development perspective, the number of staff could reach 24,700 in 2032.

Minnikhanov approved the proposed plan for staffing needs for SEZ «Alabuga».
