Rustam Minnikhanov discusses development of Tatarstan country recreational facilities with entrepreneurs

On 14 July the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Urtau country recreation complex in Zelenodolsk region of the republic, where he discussed development of regional country recreational facilities with the entrepreneurs’ community. 

Rustam Minnikhanov looked round the area of the country club opened in 2021, which has 52 living modules, a SPA center, a swimming pool, a restaurant and an embankment. 

Welcoming participant of the meeting, the Rais of Tatarstan said that the republic carries out continuous work in creating favourables conditions for developing tourism in all spheres, including the country and nature tourism. 

“There are many projects under implementation and each of them has its advantages. We should develop domestic tourism as today it is possible to have comfortable rest by a river or in the woods without going outside Tatarstan. The most important is that we have initiative people and entrepreneurs who take an active part in this work,” he said. 

The Head of the Directorate on natural territories of the Institute of Tatarstan Cities Development Oksana Sargina informed that as of today the republic has already invested 3.3bn rubles into country tourism, which has 42 facilities in 16 regions of the republic, created 450 jobs and more than 80 thousand people having had their rest there in 2022-2023. She added that in 2023-2025 it is planned to attract another 2.6bn rubles into the sphere and establish 15 facilities in9 regions. 

The Chairman of the Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism Sergey Ivanov  told about participation of the republic in grant competitions in of the Tourism and Hospitality State Programme, having told that in 2022 as many as 18 recreation facilities received 271m rubles, including 220m from the federal and 51m from regional budgets. On top of that 16m more were allocated on procurement of equipment, rental inventory and improvement of recreation areas. 

“This year we are implementing another measure for development of beaches in country recreation zones with the total of 177m rubles to be invested into these projects,” Sergey Ivanov added. 

After representatives of business told about their projects being implemented in nature and country tourism in various regions of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked them for the attention they give to the development of tourism in Tatarstan.

“Today we can have good rest without going out of the republic. We have such unique places as Blue lakes, the Kama, the Volga and the Vyatka Rivers and a lot of other unique natural blessings. That is why we have a huge potential. The most important is to create conditions and the infrastructure. However this work should be done together with ecologists and foresters,” he added. 

Tatarstan Minister of Forestry Ravil Kuzyurov, regional Minister of Land and Property Relations Fanil Agliullin, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the republic Aleksandr Shadrikov and the Director of the Institute of Tatarstan Cities Development Nailya Zinnatullina also took part in the meeting.
