On July 10, on the sidelines of the International Industrial Exhibition Innoprom-2023 in Yekaterinburg, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the ceremony of launching the plant of Sollers Company for the production of engines at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
The SOLLERS engine plant in Alabuga SEZ was established in 2015 as a joint venture of SOLLERS and Ford Motor Companies to produce 1.6-liter Sigma engines for Ford cars. The plant produced engines for «Ford» until 2019. To date, the production lines of the plant are automated at 95 per cent. The engine production capacity is 50 thousand units per year.
This will be the first in Russia deep localized production of small diesel engines for the needs of the Russian automotive industry and other industries.
The project will localize all key technological operations - casting, forging, machining of basic engine parts, assembly and control tests, and also provides localization of the piston group from Russian suppliers.
Mishustin emphasized that over the years Alabuga SEZ has shown steady growth.
