Rustam Minnikhanov meets Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

On 6 July, speaking at his meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the Kazan Kremlin,  the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov  said :”I want to thank you for the support in developing international cooperation of Tatarstan. Within the consolidated foreign policy of our country, the republic makes its contribution into strengthening relations with partners and friendly countries.” 

He reminded that in addition to representative offices of Tatarstan abroad, the republic actively works with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. 

Rustam Minnikhanov attracted special attention to the work of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic world| which he is the head of on the errand from the Russian President Vladimir Putin. 

In his turn Sergey Lavrov gave high assessment to the KazanForum. “I have read materials of the forum and its programme was very eventful,” the Russian Minister said. 

“You are among the leaders in running foreign relations and what it most important this work brings good results both for the republic and the whole country,” Sergey Lavrov said. 

The parties also discussed the coming meeting of heads of BRICS countries to be held by the order of the Russian President in Kazan next year.
