On 6 July at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitriy Patrushev, who came on a working trip to the republic, discussed prospects of development of agribusiness of the republic, issues of increasing the output of agricultural products and raising life quality in rural areas.
They paid special attention to the issues of draught which cause problems for Tatarstan farmers, and Rustam Minnikhanov said that because of summer frost and absence of rain the republic is expecting decrease of the grain and forage crops yield. With that said the parties discussed possible support measures for those farms who have suffered in this situation.
In the whole the Minister said that agriculture of the republic shows a stable growth and strong results. “In 2022 the index of agricultural industry made nearly 126 per cent which is one of the highest indicators in the country,” Dmitriy Patrushev said.
He emphasized that Tatarstan traditionally is one of the largest state support receivers in the sphere of agribusiness and in 2024.8bn rubles will be allocated to the republic.
Speaking about development of cattle breeding, the Minister stated that by results of the last year the region is the leader in the country in milk production – more than 2m tonnes in 2022.
Dmitriy Patrushev also gave high assessment to the work done in the republic in the sphere of fertilizers and development of the meliorative complex. On top of that Tatarstan also takes an active part in the implementation of the state programme “Comprehensive development of rural territories”, having used 1.5bn rubles in 2022 and this year allocating 2bn on this purpose. The key projects of the programme include construction of roads, social facilities and engineering communications.
The agenda of the minister’s visit includes participation in agricultural-technical exhibition “The All-Russia Field Day-202” and attending a number of agricultural productions and social facilities in rural territories.
