Rustam Minnikhanov discusses opening a branch of KFU in Cairo with the administration of the Modern Group Company

On 6 July in the Government House of the republic the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Modern Group Company from Egypt Doctor Walid Deabes.

In 2022 Kazan Federal University and the Modern Group signed an agreement on cooperation, which envisages establishment of a branch of the university in Cairo taking into consideration prospects of development of the education market and the popularity of Russian language and Russian education.

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov stated that Egypt is a long-time and important partner of Russia. At its level Tatarstan facilitates development of business and humanitarian relations in particular in science and education. There are 1356 students from Egypt, studying at universities of the republic, including 229 at KFU. The Rais of Tatarstan emphasized that the opening of the branch of Kazan University in Cairo will become an important step in strengthening the cooperation.

The Modern Group acts as a partner of the project of opening the branch in Cairo. It is the multi-profile Egyptian company established in 1990 with the aim of implementation of projects in education, real estate and construction. Since 1992 the company also specializes in investments infrastructural educational projects.
