On 28 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a festive namaz dedicated to Kurban bayram held in the Al Tan Mosque in Kazan, where the Mufti of the republic Kamil Samigullin told about the origins of the holiday and its spiritual and moral meaning. He also called believers to respect each other and warned them against danger of gossip and slander.
After the sermon Rustam Minnikhanov and Kamil Samigullin discussed the meeting of the Tatarstan clergy with architects and builders of the future Kazan Cathedral Mosque where the participants of the meeting discussed new options for displacement of the cult facility and prospects of development of the former Kyrlay amusement park.
Kamil Samigullin informed that the commission of Kazan imams formed a petition to the Rais of the republic asking to establish a park of 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria on the location of the Kyrlay Park.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that he fully supports the initiative of the clergy and told that the work of designing the new park will be carried out already this year and next year the park will be open for all residents and guests of Kazan.
