Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan has a long history of relations with East Azerbaijan

On June 26, speaking at a meeting with Governor of East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran Zein ol-Abedin Razavi Khorram held at the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said Tatarstan has a long history of relations with East Azerbaijan.

Minnikhanov thanked the Governor for the high level of organization of the visit of the Tatarstan delegation to East Azerbaijan last September.

Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with Iran under the Russian-Iranian relations. He also pointed to the great potential of trade and economic cooperation.

Rais of the republic emphasized that Tatarstan is a machine-building region: “We produce cars, helicopters and build ships. Tatarstan is a center for the production of petrochemical products, mineral fertilizers. We have a developed agro-industrial complex”. Minnikhanov proposed to actively develop interaction of the scientific and educational sphere, culture and tourism.

The Governor of East Azerbaijan Province thanked the leadership of the republic for the warm welcome. He emphasized that cooperation with Tatarstan is actively developing, and mutual visits contribute to strengthening bilateral ties.
