Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a meeting on issues of aircraft building held by Russian Prime Minister

On 22 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov took part in a meeting on issues of aircraft building held by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the premises of the Kazan Aircraft Plant within the agenda of his working trip to Kazan. 

In the beginning of the meeting its participants payed respect to the fallen in the WWII with a minute of silence. 

Speaking at the meeting, Mikhail Mishustin said that the Kazan Aircraft Plant is the leading Russian enterprise in design, manufacture and after-sales maintenance of missile-carrier and special purpose aircraft. ”The plant manufactures commercial TU-214, produces and modernizes TU-160 and TU-22M3 long-range planes. Most of benches at the plant are domestically produced,” he said. 

The Russian Prime Minister emphasized that according to the aircraft production development programme by 2030 more than 1 thousand commercial planes will be manufactured, with the Kazan Plant playing a special role of producing 10 TU-214 every year starting from 2025, and 20 planes from 2027. 

He informed that Russian President approved allocation of 41.8bn rubles from the National Wealth Fund on TU-214 production. 

The Managing Director of the Tupolev Company Vadim Korolev informed that the TU-214 plane corresponds to all modern requirements of the commercial aviation and has the high level of production localization of 87 per cent 

“The confirmed demand in TU-214 currently is up to 150 planes till 2030,” he emphasized and said that to provide production of 20 Tu-214 annually, the company has developed a set of activities in expansion and modernization of production, import replacement and development of digital technologies of plane manufacture. 

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov informed that the plant has carried out much work in modernization and technical re-equipment of production. “All issues are on the radar. We are implementing set tasks,” he concluded.
