Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan visit the Kazan Aircraft Plant

On June 22, during his working visit to Kazan, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin accompanied by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov visited the Kazan Aircraft Plant after S. Gorbunov.

Russian Prime Minister got acquainted with the implementation of a large-scale programme of modernization and re-equipment of production and visited the production facilities of the Kazan Aircraft Plant. Currently, the enterprise is producing Tu-160 strategic missile carriers and Tu-214 passenger aircraft, repairing and further improving Tu-160, Tu-22M3 aircrafts.

Mikhail Mishustin was introduced to unique technology of electron-beam welding and vacuum annealing of large-sized parts of complex geometry of titanium alloys.

Russian Prime Minister also visited the Tu-214 assembly plant under construction. The new facility will fulfill the tasks of producing 20 aircrafts per year. Minnikhanov reported that the construction is under his personal special control. This is the largest construction in the country's aviation industry. The area of the hangar is 30.7 thousand square meters.

Speaking with employees of the enterprise, Russian Prime Minister highly appreciated the production potential of the Kazan Aviation Plant.
