Rustam Minnikhanov meets the Acting Governor of Smolensk region Vasiliy Anokhin

On 15 June on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Acting of Governor of Smolensk region Vasiliy Anokhin signed an agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and the region.
Before the signing ceremony the parties discussed important issues of inter-regional interaction and Rustam Minnikhanov set forth an initiative to exchange an experience in the spheres of state governance, investments activity and others. 
Vasiliy Anokhin was appointed the Acting Governor of Smolensk region in March 2023 with native of Tatarstan Almaz Akhmetshin, who recently was the Head of Nurlat region of the republic, becoming one of his deputies.
Rustam Minnikhanov also proposed to organize a working group for more detailed work on implementation of the Agreement. “Under current complicated circumstances it is important to find new ways for development including those in the domestic market. We should establish close interaction between government departments of our regions,” he said.
At the meeting the parties stated that the trade turnover between two regions makes about 1bn rubles with Tatarstan supplying to Smolensk trucks, food products, medical equipment, fuel and computers and in its turn the region procures fertilizers, medical instruments, electrical cables and jewelry to the republic. 
Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan is interested in expanding cooperation in many spheres.
