Mintimer Shaimiev and Farid Mukhametshin lay flowers at the monument to the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin

On June 6, on the Day of the Russian Language and the 224th birthday of the great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin, Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin and representatives of the creative intelligentsia and public of the republic, cultural workers and students took part in the Poetry Festival dedicated to this holiday and held near the Jalil Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theatre  in Kazan .

Shaimiev and Mukhametshin laid flowers at the monument to Alexander Pushkin.

Then they watched a concert dedicated to the Day of the Russian Language.
