On 2 June, speaking at a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Chemist and the birthday of the Kazan Organic Synthesis Company held in the Birch Grove in the Kazan Mirnyy settlement, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is one of the leading chemical and petrochemical centers of our country.
He greeted employees of chemical and petrochemical branches and workers of universities and research institutes by emphasizing their big contribution into the development of the branch and stated that last year the republic produced the total amount 1.8 trillion rubles of chemical and petrochemical products which was by 20 per cent more than in the previous year. “These achievements are the result of work of each of 54 000 employees of the branch,” he said.
He said that Tatarstan continues developing new chemical production and in the last year only about 100bn rubles were invested in production capacities development and modernization. Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that this year the Kazan Organic Synthesis Company celebrates its 65th birthday since its establishment and 60 years since the output of its first products.
He also stated the high level of interaction with the SIBUR Company and said: “I am sure that the experience and competences of the company will make it possible to strengthen positions of our enterprises in the market and will give new impetus to further development of chemistry and petrochemistry in Tatarstan.”
After his speech Rustam Minnikhanov handed in a number of Tatarstan State Awards to employees and old stagers of the branch.
Speaking at the event, the Director General of the SIBUR Company Mikhail Karisalov congratulated Tatarstan chemists with their professional holiday and said that the main task for tomorrow is to facilitate safe and efficient work. In conclusion he read out a congratulatory greeting from the Chairman of the SIBUR Board of Directors Leonid Mikhelson, which said that the Kazan Organic Synthesis is one of the largest enterprises of the domestic petrochemical industry occupying a very important place in the SIBUR.
