On 1 June Tatarstan Priem Minister Aleksey Pesoshin was on a working trip to Nurlat region of the republic where he took part in the extraordinary 28th session of the Nurlat Municipality Council which considered the early termination of office of the Head of the region Almaz Akhmetshin and the election of the new head of the region.
Speaking at the meeting, Aleksey Pesoshin reminded that Almaz Akhmetshin has run the region for the last five years and is resigning due to his appointment to the post of the Deputy Governor of Smolensk region in construction and housing utilities sector, power economy and tariff policy. He expressed Almaz Akhmetshin the gratitude from the Rais of the republic for his successful work as the Head of Nurlat region and municipality and handed him in the state award of the republic – the Duslyk Order.
Then by secret ballot the members of the Council elected Damir Iskineev the new Head of the region.
In his turn Tatarstan Prime Minister wished Ishkineev successful work at the new position and said he is sure that he will manage to solve all his tasks and solve all issues of social and economic development of the municipality.
In conclusion of the session the members of the Council handed in Almaz Akhmetshin a certificate and a badge of the Citizen of Honour of the City of Nurlat.
