Address of the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Russian folk festival “Karavon”

Dear Tatarstan residents!

I heartily congratulate you on the Russian folk holiday Karavon! According to a good tradition, on the hospitable Laishevo land, under the bell ringing of the Nikolsky Temple, the Karavon announces the coming of festive celebrations. Having absorbed the creative wisdom of farmers and unforgettable images of the native land, this holiday, as before, has a special spiritual power and continues to delight us with the many-sided beauty and bright color of Russian traditional culture.

Special symbolism is laid down in the Karavon khorovod of the village of Nikolskoye, where the spirit of nature, the warmth and unity of all its participants merge into one rhythm. The enchanting action gives each of us a unique feeling of belonging to our origins and an inextricable connection with the glorious traditions of many generations of our ancestors. From year to year, holiday gathers more and more connoisseurs of original culture of Russian people from different parts of our country. It is gratifying that sonorous children's voices and youthful enthusiasm sound more and more at the holiday. The involvement of the younger generation in the common historical and cultural heritage is the basis for the preservation of traditional values and the creative development of multi-ethnic Tatarstan.

The Year of National Cultures and Traditions held in our republic in 2023 is intended to contribute to this. Only together, regardless of nationality and religion, united by a common history, inner spirit and moral values, can we preserve a unique historical and cultural heritage and overcome all temporary difficulties.
