Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin hands in diplomas to municipal entities - winners of two-month cleaning and environmental campaign

On May 27, speaking at the traditional meeting at the Government House of the republic, held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of all municipalities of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Aleksandr Shadrikov made a report on two-month cleaning and environmental campaign.

The campaign started on April 1, and during two months, residents of the republic, municipal entities, environmental services, enterprises and organizations actively joined the work to restore order. In total, almost 700,000 people took part in the two-month events. More than 18,000 units of equipment were involved. 520,000 cubic meters of waste were removed to the landfills. Municipalities planted 650,000 trees and shrubs under the greening work. During this period, numerous environmental and cleaning campaigns and environmental lessons were organized.

Pesoshin handed in awards to municipalities and urban districts on the results of a two-month cleaning and environmental campaign. Thus, Kazan became the best municipality of the republic in the category "Urban districts", Naberezhnye Chelny ranked second. Diplomas were also awarded to municipalities in the category "Municipal regions with the center - the status of "urban-type settlement, regional center, village", "Municipal regions with the center - the status of "city" and others.
