Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a ceremony of honorary resignation of the Chairman of Tatarstan Supreme Court Ilgiz Gilazov

On 26 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an event dedicated to an honorary resignation of the Chairman of Tatarstan Supreme Court Ilgiz Gilazov  where he handed him in the medal of the Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan .

Addressing Ilgiz Gilazov, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “I would like to express you my sincere gratitude for you invaluable contribution into the development of the court system of the republic. The way you served the law is an example of the highest professionalism, meticulous and responsible approach to your job”.

He reminded that the open court hearings presided by Gilazov in Naberezhnyye Chelny, when he started his work in the Supreme Court in 1989, became paradigmatic.

“For the long years of you work you have become an unquestioned authority in issues of protecting rights and freedoms of citizens. Your knowledge of the legal system, mastership and ability to think critically and to take weighed decisions inspire young generations of lawyers to strictly abide by the highest standards and ethical norms of the profession. The growth of the people’s trust to the judicial power is an important result of your difficult work,” the Rais of the republic said and separately emphasized that the involved attitude of Ilgiz Gilazov to people’s problems brought him universal respect.

Rustam Minnikhanov said he is sure that the experience and knowledge of Ilgiz Gilazov will be used somewhere else and concluded: “I wish you success in any beginnings and want to express my sincere gratitude for your long time conscientious work and wish you and your family good health.”

The Chief Federal Inspector for Tatarstan Viktor Demidov, the Internal Minister of the republic Artyom Khokhorin and representatives of the judicial and law-enforcement bodies of the republic also took part in the event.
