Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the Russia-China business forum in Shanghai

Om 23 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who is a member of the Russia delegation headed by the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin, took part in a plenary session of the Russia-China business forum with the Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang representing his country. 

In his welcoming speech Mikhail Mishustin reminded that heads of federal ministries and departments, large companies and regions of Russia are working at the forum as members of the large Russian delegation and said he was sure that deepening of Russia-China interaction will have a positive impact on strengthening economy of both countries.

After he also invited a delegation from China to the Games of the Future to be held in Kazan next year, which will combine both classic kind of sports and cybersport competitions, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitriy Chernyshenko showed a video about the coming Games in Kazan. 

On the margins of the Forum Rustam Minnikhanov stated the importance of such large-scale joint events. “We should ramp up our cooperation. Unfortunately during the pandemic there was no possibility for active joint work. We see that our Chinese partners are ready to work,” he said. 

Last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and China increased by more than 58 per cent and exceeded 1.6bn dollars. There is a trade-economic representative office of Tatarstan in Beijing and the General Consulate of China in Kazan.
