Rustam Minnikhanov at the session “Sber leadership in financing partnership development”: For the Islamic world Russia is the place you can work with

On 19-May speaking at the session “Sber leadership in financing partnership development in Russia” held on the sidelines of the ХIV International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum 2023”, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that starting from 2016 the republic is taking an active part in the development of partnership banking and financial services related to it.

The work is done by the working group in partnership banking under supervision of the Central Bank of Russia as according to the draft law under consideration of the Russia Sate Dume, Tatarstan alongside other three regions of Russia will be granted the right to test experimental legal regimes.

Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Today many countries in the world are using possibilities of the Islamic banking and it should be developed in Russia especially on the background of Western limitations. And here in Kazan we have opened the first Sber office of Islamic financing.”

Sharing his thoughts, he said: “Western partners tuned their backs to us and this means we should find partners who will be with us. And I am very grateful to our guests who are here with us at our Forum today. This proves that for the Islamic world Russia is the place you can work with.

In conclusion he expressed his gratitude to all those taking part in the KazaForum by saying:” Thank you very much! It is very important that today the Forum is the place where our country becomes closer to the Islamic world. We should move towards each other. The Forum is successful not just because we have organized it well, but also because you are with us!”
