Head of Tatarstan Ministry of Ecology reports on the progress of a two-month cleaning and environmental campaign

On May 13, speaking at the Government House of the republic at the regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Сhairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin, Tatarstan Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Aleksandr Shadrikov reported on the progress of a two-month cleaning and environmental campaign.

The Minister said that since the beginning of the two-month campaign supervisory authorities revealed over 5,000 violations, including 4111, which have been eliminated, and issued 1315 decisions on imposing fines for the sum of 1m 200 thousand roubles for violations.

As many as 3,323 places of unauthorized waste disposal were identified, 79.5 per cent were liquidated.

The speaker informed about traditional raids and overflights. Thus, 3 joint raids with Russian Railways have already been carried out, 13 regions have been surveyed, as well as the territory of Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny. In total, 60 places of unauthorized waste disposal have been identified. Violations are also revealed from the air.

Since the beginning of the two-month campaign, due to the involvement of contractors of the Ministry of Transport and Roads of Tatarstan, over 4.5 thousand cubic meters of municipal solid waste have been collected from the right of way of roads, more than 3,000 people and 269 special vehicles have been involved.
