On May 4, at the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov chaired a meeting of the organization committee on preparation and holding the celebrations of the 78th V Day in Tatarstan.
Participants of the meeting observed a minute of silence in memory of all veterans who gave their lives for the Motherland.
During the meeting, the Rais of Tatarstan gave a number of instructions on preparation and holding the celebration of Victory Day.
At the meeting, the Rais of Tatarstan said: “This morning in the square near the Severny Vokzal Station of Kazan in a solemn atmosphere, with the participation of veterans, teams of enterprises and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society Nikolay Ovsyenko, the stele “Kazan –the Labour Valour City” was unveiled.
During the World War II, our republic was one of the most important logistic centers. The contribution of enterprises of the Soviet Tatarstan, scientists and residents of the republic to the Great Victory was marked by the assignment of the status of Kazan «City of Labor Valor» (Decree of Russian President of 02.07.2020 № 444).
In addition, work on preserving the historical memory of the mass labor heroism and dedication of our residents is continuing in the republic.
Minnikhanov said: “Decree on conferring the regional title «Enterprise of Labor Valour. 1941 - 1945» to two enterprises was signed. These are the "Karpov Chemical Plant" and "Kukmor Felt-Making Plant”.
The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan also said that today there are 20 enterprises in the republic that have made a significant contribution to ensuring the uninterrupted production of military and civilian products during the WWII. All of them were awarded the regional title “Enterprise of Labor Valor. 1941–1945”.
Minnikhanov also instructed to hold all planned all-Russian and regional campaigns at a high level.
At the end of the meeting, the Rais of Tatarstan handed in awards and Letters of Gratitude to activists of regional and municipal veteran organizations.
