Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the completion ceremony of another tunnel of the second line of the Kazan metro

On April 21, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Director General of Kazmetrostroy Marat Rakhimov took part in the ceremony of exiting the tunneling boring machine on the second branch of the Kazan metro from the station «Zilant» to the station «Academicheskaya.

The construction of the first launch complex of the second metro line is planned to be completed in 2027. The total length of the first section, which consists of four stations «Zilant», «Tulpar», «100th anniversary of TASSR» and «Academicheskaya», reaches 5 km 750 meters. In total, the branch will include three blocks of four stations each. Rakhimov reported on the progress of work to the Rais of the republic.

He said that the construction of the subway is on schedule. The total length of the tunnel from «Zilant» to «Academicheskaya» is 870 meters, the tunneling took six months. In total, 65 per cent of the tunnels were completed within the first stage of the second metro line.
