On March 17, during his working visit to Samara, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Head of the Kuibyshev Railway - the branch of Russian Railways Vyacheslav Dmitriev.
The meeting participants summed up the results of the work of the Kuibyshev railway in Tatarstan for 2022 and set tasks for 2023. They also discussed cooperation in organizing rail transportation and implementing joint projects.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan is successfully cooperating with the Kuibyshev railway. Every year, the Kuibyshev Railway transports more than 15 million tonnes of cargo in the republic: oil and oil products, grain, scrap metal, construction materials, fertilizers and others. Rais of Tatarstan stressed that the main volume of cargo falls on the enterprises of the Kama cluster and residents of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone. Volumes are expected to increase in the coming years. In this regard, the participants of the meeting touched upon the topic of modernization and further development of the railway infrastructure in the republic.
Dmitriev thanked Tatarstan Government and Rustam Minnikhanov for the special attention to the railway industry and the high level of interaction of all participants of the transport and logistics cluster. Minister of Transport and Road Economy of Tatarstan Farit Khanifov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Marat Minibayev and representatives of large enterprises of Tatarstan took part in the meeting.
