On March 16, speaking at a meeting with the Governor of Ulyanovsk region Aleksey Russkikh held in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan and the Ulyanovsk region historically have good partnership relations.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan and Ulyanovsk region have extensive trade and economic ties. The regions have a common border and common interests in territorial development and ecology, economy and social life. Interregional trade turnover exceeds 7 billion roubles.
Tatarstan supplies gasoline and diesel fuel, trucks and cars, products of chemical enterprises, nitrogen fertilizers, feed, sheet glass, rolled iron, medical equipment and a wide range of various goods. Goods and cars, buses, cement, roofing materials, agro-industrial products are imported from Ulyanovsk region. «We have good prospects of increasing trade and economic relations taking into account transport accessibility», Minnikhanov emphasized.
The Rais of Tatarstan emphasized that Tatarstan and Ulyanovsk enterprises are ready to develop partnership in engineering, aircraft industry, in the field of introduction of energy-saving technologies in the production and housing and utility services. Minnikhanov proposed more active cooperation in the sphere of attracting investment, in logistics, agriculture, education, culture, youth policy and sports. The project «Great Volga Road» plays a special role in the development of relations in the direction of tourism.
Minnikhanov invited the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region to take part in the KazanForum, to be held in May this year. In his turn, Russkikh highly appreciated the results of the visit. “I want to thank you for the traditionally warm welcome. We have brought a big delegation. Many new contacts. I am sure that the negotiations will develop into concrete actions,” the Governor said. He underlined that the big business mission of Ulyanovsk enterprises to Tatarstan is another step to strengthening interregional cooperation.
